I’ve Submitted an Idea. What Happens Now?

We value your ideas and enhancement requests! When you submit your idea to HealthStream, it progresses through a process that allows us to evaluate and respond accordingly. You can find an explanation of your idea’s status below. During any of these stages, HealthStream may reach out to you and other idea supporters for additional information, to request feedback on design, or to share proposed solutions for your suggestion.

Thank you for submitting your idea!

  • Submitted – Your idea has been submitted and is available for votes and comments from your peers. This is a great time to share this idea with other administrators you know via HUG groups, emails, or other channels.

  • Under Review – Your idea has been sent for review by product, development, and other HealthStream decision-makers. This process can vary in length depending on the complexity of the idea and other development priorities. Generally, ideas will remain in this status the longest. You can continue to vote and comment on the idea.

  • Feedback Requested– Your idea has been reviewed by product leadership and is under consideration for development; or it has been identified as part of a larger product area already under consideration for development. We are interested in learning about the value this feature would provide and are requesting additional votes, comments, and feedback to help us prioritize against ideas also attributed with “Feedback Requested” status and other potential work.

  • Planned – Congratulations, your idea is planned! This status indicates we have placed this idea on a development roadmap. Timelines always vary, so a planned status will not indicate an expected date, but we typically do not place ideas in this status unless the work will be in progress soon. You can continue to vote and comment on the idea.

  • In Progress – Woohoo! We’re moving to the next step! Your idea is being actively worked on by one of our development teams.

  • Released – Boom – You’ve crossed the Finish Line! Your idea has come a long way! It has been released to production and you can admire the work you helped make possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Other Idea Statuses

  • Resolved - Sometimes ideas are submitted that can be addressed without development effort. Ideas changed to this status are resolved based on existing functionality and additional training or support from HealthStream’s Rockstar customer support, operations, or success teams.

  • Not Planned – For ideas that we will consider implementing in the future, but are not currently on our roadmap. We place ideas in this status to be transparent about our development priorities. Ideas in this status remain open to votes and comments. We encourage you to continue to encourage your peers to engage with this idea as additional support from other HealthStream customers is always a motivator when we plan development priorities.

  • Duplicate – Ideas in this status are duplicates of other ideas that already exist and are farther along in the review process. Typically, if we see a duplicate idea, we will reach out to the submitter and suggest removing the idea and combining votes, comments, and efforts with the original idea. This helps ensure effort is focused on the idea with the most momentum.

  • Declined – Sometimes ideas are not feasible to implement, due to sheer complexity, etc. If HealthStream is unable to implement an idea, we designate it with this status and provide a detailed explanation. In the rare instance that an idea is declined, it will only occur after multiple teams complete a full feasibility review and evaluation of the idea.
