This Month’s Focus

Staffing Visibility, Access Control, and Manager Review Improvements

Scheduling teams often need to review staff details, manage request activity, respond to urgent communications, and protect user access across busy scheduling workflows. When important staff context or account controls are harder to find, routine schedule review and manager follow-up can take more effort than they should.

Recent updates in ShiftWizard help strengthen that work through enhancements to staff visibility, request review, account security, urgent message acknowledgment, open shift logic, and ERM Dashboard staffing context. Recent changes include a new Hover to Discover enterprise setting for viewing staff details from schedule and dashboard areas, new FTE-related columns for Shift Requests and Icon Requests, a new Logout Everywhere option for account security, and a new urgent message popup setting for managers and supported administrative users.

That can help teams review schedule and staffing information with more context, manage access more quickly when needed, and keep urgent communications more visible during day-to-day scheduling operations.

In this issue, we’re also highlighting updates to DSM open shift logic, ERM Dashboard staffing counts, hStream ID account linking, schedule display, report accuracy, and early access opportunities from the recent Scheduling product webinar. Learn more

Product Update Webinar Highlight

ShiftWizard Early Access and Design Partner Opportunities
Recent Scheduling product webinar content highlighted early access and design partner opportunities connected to the ShiftWizard product roadmap. Early access programs give participating clients the opportunity to review new features before general availability, receive personalized walkthroughs from Support and Product teams, and provide feedback that can influence future product development.

Current and future-facing areas highlighted in the webinar included Enhanced Scheduling Rules, ShiftWizard Time Tracking, Competency Based Scheduling, Dynamic Shift Incentives, Staffing Plan updates, and Predictive Census. These opportunities may depend on program availability, client participation, or additional Product guidance.

Clients interested in participating can watch for additional Product communications, early access opportunities, or design partner invitations.

What’s New and Noteworthy

Hover to Discover supports quick staff detail review
A new Hover to Discover enterprise setting allows users with Manager access level and above to hover over a staff member’s name to view additional staff details, including badge ID, primary department, cell phone number, and city. This feature is available from several schedule and dashboard areas, including Daily Schedule, Department Schedule, Manager Dashboard, Supervisor Dashboard, and Weekly Staff View. [WI 12461]
Availability: ShiftWizard schedule and dashboard areas (Enablement: Enterprise setting)

Shift Requests and Icon Requests now support FTE review columns
FTE, FTE Hours, and Hours Commitment columns are now available in View Settings on the Shift Requests and Icon Requests screens. Managers can add these columns to the request grids to help review staffing commitment, FTE usage, and request context from the same area. [WI 13922]
Availability: ShiftWizard Notification Center > Shift Requests and Icon Requests

Logout Everywhere supports account security
A new Logout Everywhere button is available from the User Profile screen. Users can use this button to log out of all devices for their own accounts. Managers and above can also use the button to log out staff members’ accounts, helping secure access if a device is lost or account access needs to be reset across devices. [WI 12372]
Availability: ShiftWizard User Profile
Also available from: Staff > Search Staff > selected staff member

Urgent Message Popup setting adds receipt confirmation
A new Enable Urgent Message Popup for all Managers enterprise setting allows urgent message popups for users with Manager access level or an Administrator, SuperUser, SuperUserPlus, Approver, or ApproverPlus login type. When one of these users receives a message marked Urgent, a popup displays with a checkbox to confirm receipt. [WI 13888]

DSM Mode adds more control for open shift display
A new Show DSM Mode Department Setting enterprise setting allows SuperUsers to control how open shifts are evaluated across DSM periods. When enabled, a new DSM Mode setting displays on the Departments screen with two options: Max / Max, which maintains existing behavior, and Any Closed, which displays a shift as open only if all DSM periods it spans are under capacity. [WI 13666]
Availability: ShiftWizard Departments (Enablement: HealthStream Support enablement required)

ERM Dashboard can show Earned Staff counts
A new ERM Staff Counts from Staffing Worksheet enterprise setting allows Managers and above to view Earned staff for shifts on the ERM Dashboard. When enabled, users can display Hired / Earned values in Staffing Period columns. [WI 13920]

Product and Application Highlights

Additional highlights this month include related updates in account linking, schedule review, report accuracy, and dashboard display.

Schedule review fixes support cleaner Daily Schedule and Department Schedule activity
Recent fixes help improve schedule display and editing reliability. Availability: ShiftWizard Schedule > Department Schedule and Schedule > Daily Schedule

Report updates support more accurate review
Recent report fixes corrected time zone behavior in the Activity by Date enterprise report and resolved an issue where 12/31/1899 displayed in Begin Time and End Time columns in the Schedules & Icons Enterprise Report.
Availability: ShiftWizard Enterprise Reports

ERM Dashboard and Float Pool icon display issues have been fixed
The issue where icons with the Type set to Incentive were not displayed on the ERM Dashboard has been fixed. The issue where the ERM Dashboard and Float Pool reports only displayed icons with data in the Notes field has also been fixed.
