CredentialStream for Groups Tip: Task Management: Provider Bulk Import

Learn how to use bulk import to add or update provider records.

Use the Provider Bulk Import feature to efficiently upload large volumes of data into CredentialStream for Groups using a formatted Excel (.xlsx) template. Bulk import is useful for onboarding providers or updating existing provider records in bulk, reducing manual entry time and minimizing errors.

Let's get started!

One way to go to Bulk Import is to select Providers > +Create button > +Bulk Import.

Another way to go to Bulk Import is to select Bulk Import > Providers.

Select the Get Template button.

In the Bulk Import Template spreadsheet, learn about the rules and nuances for Provider Bulk Import in the instructions.

The records on each tab are linked by the NPI number.
When adding new providers, add the required provider name and NPI to the Demographics tab.
When updating existing providers, add the data to be updated. Data only needs to be added on the Demographics tab when updating demographic information.
Column headers in blue are the fields that match on criteria when updating existing records.
Add data for the required fields marked by an asterisk.

Select the +Import button to upload the template into CredentialStream for Groups.

Review the data.
Correct any issues that are marked in red. A field is red when the data does not match the standardized lookup values and are required.

Yellow indicates the values do not match the standardized lookup values but the fields are not required.

Orange fields indicate a change in the data.
Hover over the field to see the source data from the Excel template and the existing data in the provider profile.
Use the filter tabs at the top of the preview screen to filter between new providers being added or data being merged into existing providers.

Use the cascade option to apply a lookup value to all other entries that match.

Select the +Import button to complete the import.
