This Month’s Focus

Credentialing teams rely on clear information across application review, appointment decisions, privilege requests, payer enrollment, roster preparation, and ongoing monitoring. When reviewer feedback, privilege activity, payer contract details, and roster outputs are easier to review, teams can make decisions with more confidence and reduce friction in day-to-day follow-up.

Recent CredentialStream updates strengthen visibility across several connected workflows. Reviewer Experience Insights introduces new survey-based reporting for Appoint reviewers. Axuall SSO Privilege Requests help providers move from Axuall into CredentialStream Hub to complete privilege requests without signing in to Hub separately. Privilege updates improve visibility into form status changes, while payer contract, roster, and variable enhancements help teams work with clearer data in outputs and follow-up workflows.

This issue also highlights CredentialStream Privilege Content Library updates, NPDB and NCCPA updates, and selected resources from across the Credentialing product family.

What’s New and Noteworthy

Reviewer Experience Insights help organizations evaluate Appoint reviewer feedback
The new Reviewer Experience Insights screen turns Appoint reviewer survey responses into metrics and visualizations that can help organizations evaluate the reviewer experience. The screen includes measures such as average survey rating, completed surveys, and submission rate across facilities and specialties.

Users can filter results by submitted date and other available filters, review organization performance by category, compare their data to CredentialStream averages, and review comments submitted by Appoint reviewers [WI 97067].

Axuall SSO Privilege Requests help providers move directly into Hub privileging
CredentialStream now supports an Axuall SSO workflow that allows providers to move from Axuall into CredentialStream Hub to complete privilege requests without signing in to Hub separately. This integration is designed for partner vendors that need to include CredentialStream Hub Privilege Requests as part of their own application process. Axuall is the first supported vendor for this workflow.

The provider begins in Axuall, completes the required Axuall application tasks, and then selects a link that opens CredentialStream Hub through SSO. Once in Hub, the provider completes the required fields and privilege requests, then submits the application as usual. [WI 109921].

Privilege updates strengthen status-change visibility
CredentialStream now records when published privilege forms are moved back to Edit mode, improving visibility into form status changes. The Activity column now displays Moved to Edit from Published for this activity [WI 107781].

Product and Application Highlights

Additional highlights this month include supporting updates in Enroll, Bolt, CredentialStream, and the Privilege Content Library.

Payer contract and roster updates improve enrollment follow-up
Recent Enroll updates make payer contract and roster information easier to review and use.

• Organization Tax ID has been added to the provider’s Payer Contracts data-grid, allowing users to filter and refine payer contract records using Tax ID values.
• Roster Generator now includes providers on both Add and Recred sheets when they meet the requirements for each roster type within the same reporting period.

Expanded variables support more complete outputs and reporting
Recent updates add and improve variables that can support more detailed letters, exports, imports, spreadsheets, and roster outputs.

• The existing Training Notes variable is now supported, allowing users to pull provider training notes into letters, exports, imports, and spreadsheet outputs.
• Verification variables are now available in the Organizations and Office/Location master tables, allowing verification data to be included in related outputs.
• Office location specialty variables now support advanced filtering, allowing users to limit output to primary specialties only.

Organization query links improve access to organization records
Bolt organization queries now support direct links to organization results when an Organizations master table is selected. This helps users open and review matching organization records more efficiently from query results.

Additional credentialing reliability updates
Several June fixes also support cleaner verification and monitoring activity.

• NPDB Continuous Query enrollment counts now more accurately reflect unique providers.
• Empty NPDB verification records are no longer created after invalid facility passwords are detected, reducing misleading verification activity.
• Certain OIG verification records that could be missing from the provider Verifications record area now display as expected.

Content Library Updates
New and revised privilege forms are now available in the CredentialStream Privilege Content Library. July updates include Neonatal–Perinatal Medicine, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Wound Care for Nurse Practitioners, Cardiovascular Disease, and Neurological Surgery.

These updates also introduce a refreshed privilege form structure that adds brief, evidence-based justifications directly within privilege and procedure clusters. The new structure is designed to support clearer MEC review, FPPE/OPPE planning, peer review, and audit readiness.

Important Dates / Watch List

July CredentialStream release date change:
The July CredentialStream Maintenance Release has been moved from July 1 to July 8. This change was made to provide better support coverage during the holiday.

NPDB Query merger reminder
The National Practitioner Data Bank has announced that, effective December 4, 2026, the Individual One-Time Query service and Continuous Query service will merge into a single service, NPDB Query. Organizations already using Continuous Query are well positioned, since those enrollments will automatically transfer to the new NPDB Query.

If your organization has been using Individual One-Time Query, NPDB recommends creating a transition plan. Organizations can export Individual One-Time Query subjects and import those subjects into Continuous Query as new enrollments. NPDB has also made a validation report available to help identify invalid, incomplete, or duplicate subjects that need correction.

HealthStream Product Development teams are evaluating these changes and looking for opportunities to support customers through the transition.

Updates on the NCCPA Webcrawl
HealthStream has reached an agreement with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) to leverage an API integration, which we plan to have implemented in Q3. Please stay tuned for more communication about this change as we move into Q3.

Must a physician be credentialed and privileged to place infusion orders?
The answer depends on the type of entity operating the infusion center and the organization’s approved policies. For hospital-operated infusion centers, federal outpatient services rules allow orders from non-staff referring practitioners if the hospital has a written, governing-body-approved policy under the medical staff bylaws that authorizes those practitioners to order the applicable outpatient services and defines the verification process. Without that policy, the more conservative path is to require the ordering physician to be credentialed and privileged.

Key considerations include:

• Hospital-based infusion centers may support a referring-practitioner pathway when the organization has an approved policy and documented verification process.
• Freestanding ambulatory infusion centers, ASCs, and office-based infusion suites depend more heavily on state law, accreditation pathway, and entity structure.
• A defensible policy should define eligible practitioner types, verification requirements, scope-of-practice expectations, order-authentication workflow, service-line or drug-class carve-outs, and review cycles.
• Organizations should work with legal counsel, compliance leadership, medical staff leadership, and accreditation specialists when determining the right local policy.
